Futurmotive Expo & Talks: first edition a success

The future of mobility is calling, and the automotive sector responds. Futurmotive - Expo & Talks (an Autopromotec spin-off), and E-Charge, the exhibition dedicated to the EV recharging chain, its related infrastructures and services, recorded a great number of visitors and exhibitors. As many as 302 were the companies taking part in the two events, held last November at the Bologna Exhibition Centre. A total of 8,505 trade specialists visited Halls 14, 19 and 16.  Futurmotive was also attended by 44 operators from foreign markets. This presence was the result of a coordinated effort between the fair organisers with Maeci - the Ministry for Cooperation and International Affairs - and Ice (global Agency for the promotion abroad of Italian companies). A total of 120 meetings took place in the International Delegates and B2B Area located in Hall 14. In order to meet the needs of the event, the visitors’ profile was focused on automotive Oem operators (start-ups and innovative SMEs) with new product or service solutions on new technologies such as electrification, micro-mobility, autonomous driving, connected vehicle. The goal was to create one-to-one meetings aimed at technology transfer towards Oem component manufacturers and Italian car designers. Important in this respect was the collaboration with Anfia – (National Association of the Automotive Supply Chain). Thanks to the support of the Institutions, it was possible to set up the “Innovation Walk” project within the two halls hosting the Futurmotive - Expo & Talks event, in which, a series of “stages” were set-up to showcase some of the most important innovative products and services dedicated to the energy transition made by Italian companies: the companies involved in the project, 16 in total, belong to the Oem, aftermarket and shared mobility services sectors.
During the three days, the two Innovation Workshop arenas hosted several conferences dedicated to in-depth discussions organised by companies, trade associations and sector bodies. A further space, arranged in collaboration with Wmf - We Make Future and Motor Valley Accelerator, was also reserved to start-ups in the mobility sector, which had the opportunity to introduce themselves to the Futurmotive audience in two Pitch 'n Match events hosted inside the Innovation Workshop Arena in Hall 14. There was also great participation for the institutional conferences included in the programme, which animated the days of the event, bringing together important representatives from institutions, research centres, universities and the automotive industry. Futurmotive - Expo & Talks also hosted the first edition of Faas Sustainability Day, an event organised by the Forum on automotive aftermarket sustainability (Faas), an organisation that brings together the most important trade associations at European level, Clepa and Figiefa. "This first edition left us fully satisfied from all points of view: the response from companies in the sector, and not only, was overwhelming, and the same goes for the operators who visited the exhibition," said Renzo Servadei, Autopromotec's managing director. As always, we have to thank the institutions, Maeci - Ministry for Cooperation and International Affairs, Ice - Agency for the promotion abroad and internationalisation of Italian companies, and the Emilia-Romagna Region, for supporting us right from the start in this new experience. Our special thanks also go to Anfia, which as a partner in the initiative has contributed in terms of contents and much more: an important partnership, which once again showed how our sector must proceed united in going through this moment of revolution. The next appointment is with the 30th edition of Autopromotec from 21 to 24 May 2025".
