Seven years after the launch of the Roadhawk, Firestone unveiled the newest version of its summer touring tyre: the Roadhawk 2 Enliten. Designed with the innovative Enliten platform – technology developed at Bridgestone's research and development centre near Rome – Firestone's latest product offers better wet grip, higher mileage and 12% less rolling resistance compared to the previous generation. Enliten is a package of technologies integrated into the tyre during the design phase to guarantee safety, performance and sustainability. In the case of Firestone’s Roadhawk 2 Enliten, this is combined with an innovative mix coupled with the use of Nano Pro-Tech, a high silica compound that guarantees higher abrasion resistance and increased mileage. The work of engineers, technicians and testers has made it possible to make significant improvements in performance compared to the previous version. In fact, the Firestone Roadhawk 2 Enliten offers better grip on wet surfaces, as the "A" class on the EU label for the category testifies, as well as a 20% higher mileage compared to the previous Roadhawk. Added to this is a 12% reduction in rolling resistance to optimize the vehicle's fuel and energy consumption. “Everyday motorists demand safety on the roads and, looking at the current economic scenario, greater value for money,” said Steven De Bock, vice-president of consumer replacement and OE at Bridgestone Emia. Roadhawk represents the best, Firestone's crown-jewel, and now we have taken it to another level by introducing the incredible features of Enliten technology. Furthermore, being a tyre ready for electric mobility and with a wider range of sizes, many more drivers will be able to enjoy the benefits of the new Firestone product." Firestone's latest tyre is available from January 2024 in Europe and the Middle East in sizes 17" to 21". With 19 new sizes compared to its predecessor, Firestone Roadhawk 2 Enliten responds to the growing trend of market demand in the 18"+ segment covering the summer market demand in the Mid segment. The 16" sizes will be available starting from January 2025, bringing the total sizes of Firestone Roadhawk 2 Enliten to 112, ready for cars and SUVs regardless of the type of engine.
