The off-road world welcomes Dynapro MT2

Off-road enthusiasts will no doubt welcome Hankook’s new creation, a 4×4 Por (Professional off-road) tire designed to tackle the most difficult terrains. This is the new Dynapro MT2, a product developed by the South Korean company's engineers to offer extreme off-road performance. The acronym "MT", in fact, confirms the ability of this tire to move on muddy terrain. To develop the Terrain Strike tread structure of the Dynapro MT2, 3D simulation software was used to provide a tread with large voids. This made it possible to optimize the tire's traction on mud, dirt, rock, sand and gravel. Hankook's new dual-mould technology makes the tire even stiffer than its predecessor, Dynapro MT, maintaining the smooth look typical of a tire produced with a single mould. The wraparound tread, combined with sidewall impact protection, allows for sharper edges when advancing over rocky terrain, and the increased thickness of the rubber translates in greater puncture protection. Connected tread blocks that extend toward the centre of the sidewall help minimize shoulder damage increasing the tire’s overall stiffness and traction.

Technical features

The Dynapro MT2 features V-shaped shoulder blocks that guarantee proper traction in extreme conditions. Unique stone ejectors between the shoulder tread lugs, help make sure larger stones don’t get caught in the tread so as to increase grip and protection from punctures. The natural rubber used in the Dynapro MT2's compound, in addition to increasing elasticity, allows the tread to better adapt to uneven surfaces thus improving grip. Due to their high surface density, the reinforcing fillers used increase the viscoelastic properties of the rubber compound and improve grip on uneven terrain as well as normal roads. The tread design and compound reduce rolling noise on the road, providing a quieter and more comfortable ride. The particularly sturdy casing structure enhances stability and precision off road but can prove a comfortable driving experience also on asphalt. The high-performance seamless bead helps keep the tire securely on the rim even when driving on difficult terrain with lower tire pressure.

Sizes

The latest Dynapro product line is available on the European market in more than 19 sizes, some with white "Dynapro" lettering on the side, all with Por (Professional Off-Road) markings. These tires are specially designed for uneven terrain and enjoy a special status as they are not subject to EU labelling requirements. They can also be used in winter in countries where winter tires are mandatory even though the 3PMSF symbol is missing. Dynapro MT2 has the M+S marking on the sidewall.
