Falken presents the super-sporty Azenis RS820

Designed and built for the some of the most powerful cars in the market, the Falken Azenis RS820 is the Japanese brand's new U-Uhp model. The developers at Falken Tyres Europe have harnessed the long experience in motorsport and the outstanding technological know-how of the parent company Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. to start mass production of a super-high-performance product. The Azenis RS820 will initially be produced in 38 sizes with a diameter of 19 to 21 inches for speeds of up to 300 km/h. "With the new Azenis RS820, Falken is appealing to sports car enthusiasts who want to exploit the full potential of their sports cars while enjoying an authentic driving experience in complete safety," said Philipp Wolz, product planner at Falken. "The latest-generation silica compound strikes a balance between safe daily driving around town and fun on more demanding routes. Falken once again incorporates the latest motorsport technology into a road model, making the new Azenis RS820 the jewel in the crown of our product range". Designed to offer handling, stability and control at different speeds and in a variety of conditions, as well as a quiet and smooth ride, the Azenis RS820 features an asymmetric tread pattern with four circumferential grooves. The improved shoulder design offers increased road contact and lateral stability on dry roads. Motorsport technology is at the heart of the Azenis RS820, with Aramid - just like its race car model - used for the hybrid reinforcements. An optimised belt ensures even pressure distribution, enabling a dynamic driving experience and increased safety. The tread compound includes a variety of chemical compounds and interlocking microstructures to ensure robust yet flexible tread blocks to guarantee the best driving properties in a wide range of road conditions. The circumferential ribs of the Azenis RS820 not only improve lateral grip when cornering, but also ensure straight-line stability. The wide, deep grooves ensure water drainage and minimise the risk of aquaplaning. Falken's advanced proprietary 4D Nano design technology ensures lower wear rates and longer tread life. The label values for the Azenis RS820, which are still to be fully defined, are provisionally rated A (wet performance), B (noise) and C (fuel consumption). Of the 38 sizes initially planned, 30 went into production in 2023. The others will follow in 2024.
