Dunlop presents Trailmax Mission and SportSmart TT Trail

Adventure and scrambler bikes, two of the fastest growing segments in the motorbike market, can now rely on Dunlop’s Trailmax Mission, dedicated to riders seeking great off-road adventures, and SportSmart TT Trail, which aims to break down the boundaries between hyper-sport and adventure segments and offers "extreme performance" for riders seeking high levels of dynamic road behaviour. Dunlop's latest additions to the recently launched adventure range are Mutant, "an all-season crossover", and Trailmax Meridian, designed for on and off-road performance and to equip some the most powerful adventure bikes.

Trailmax Mission

Trailmax Mission offers solid off-road performance, but combined with high levels of durability, handling and stability, this tire proves perfectly at home on rocky terrain and winding paths thanks to specially designed grooves. Dunlop has tested over 30 different Trailmax Mission prototypes before settling on the final specs. The standard version of the Trailmax Mission rear tire has undergone 12,800 kilometres of testing by independent contract riders. Developed for adventure riders, the Trailmax Mission has been designed for those who travel long distances on tar roads but still need the tread depth and performance required to venture off-road once they reach their destination. An important contribution to performance comes from Dunlop's Staggered Step Technology, adopted on both front and rear tires. This staggered angle technology gives the tread greater stiffness and stability to prevent deformation, creating more sharp edges so that as the tread wears down, the next edge 'emerges'. Trailmax Mission is available for 19" to 21" wheels at the front and rear sizes from 17" and 18" to suit models such as Honda Africa Twin, Suzuki V-Strom, Bmw Gs, Ktm 1290/1290S, 790R/790S, Yamaha Ténéré, Triumph 800/900/1200 and many more.

SportSmart TT Trail

Next, a Trail version of the SportSmart TT superbike tire, featured on Fast Bikes magazine and rated as "best handling tire" by PS magazine in its dry track test. For riders who want the highest level of dynamic on road/on track performance, Dunlop unveiled its SportSmart TT available for the most popular adventure bikes on the market today. Dunlop SportSmart TT Trail’s superb performance is the result of a combination of technologies that stem from Dunlop's racing experience, including the company’s distinctive Speed Vent Tread. This pattern of tread grooves opens and closes when cornering, creating a valve-like effect to improve heat dissipation.
