For the delight of all lovers of 4x4 vehicles and adventure seekers, Bridgestone recently unveiled its new Dueler All-Terrain A/T002. A tyre capable of adapting to different types of terrain and different weather conditions. Developed at the Castel Romano Technical Centre, just outside Rome, and produced at Bridgestone's European factories, the new tyre is available in 43 sizes from 15" to 19". According to our market research, off-road drivers seek freedom and adventure, but also safety and the assurance that they will be ready to tackle any road, regardless of weather conditions or terrain," explains Emilio Tiberio, chief technical officer and chief operating officer of Bridgestone Emia. "With this tyre, we offer 4x4 drivers the confidence and control they need to exploit the full potential of their car, on and off-road. The All-Terrain has been designed and tested using Virtual Tyre Development technology. This is a sustainable approach that uses a digital version of the tyre under development for virtual testing before prototypes are built.
The innovative hexagonal shape of the central tread blocks and the new tread design provide balance the needed traction and braking on a variety of surfaces, improving performance on mud and snow and keeping the tyre clean when returning to smoother tar roads. The tyre is also certified with 3PMSF and M+S markings, making it compliant with winter tyre regulations. Bridgestone engineers have come up with a high-silica compound and Z-shaped sipes to improve grip and handling in even the most demanding conditions both in a straight line and cornering. Compared to its predecessor, the Dueler All-Terrain A/T002 guarantees a 40% higher mileage thanks to the new footprint, which provides uniform stiffness, an even contact pressure, and increased groove depth. The Bridgestone Dueler All-Terrain A/T002 is also the result of the experience and expertise gained by the Japanese manufacturer in the development of its OEM tyre designed specifically for the Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato.
