Vehicle equipment: huge recovery since 2009

AICA has prepared an estimate of the trend in the vehicle equipment sector in 2010. Before analyzing the figures it is important to point out an inconsistency in the trend both with regard to various product segments and geographical areas of destination. This element should be read by bearing in mind that the sector has a strong vocation for exporting; in fact about 69% of products go abroad.
In general, the estimated average increase in sales in 2010 compared to 2009 was 20%. This figure, which is certainly very comforting given the global recession, shows strong recovery against 2009.
The figures for the first months of 2011 are also encouraging and seem to confirm the positive trend and give manufacturers more breathing space. If this trend continues throughout 2011, the sector could return to pre-recession turnover levels.
