Autopromotec edition n°29 postponed to 2022
The decision to postpone the event by one year is linked to the need to protect the supply chain. As a result of this shift, the biennial event will continue to be held in even years.
Autopromotec, the most specialized international automotive equipment and aftermarket event, has announced a shift of dates for the next edition. Initially scheduled in Bologna from May 26-29, 2021, the event has now been rescheduled on May 25 to 28, 2022. Set right in the heart of Italy’s Motor Valley, Autopromotec has, for over 50 years, been a meeting point for aftermarket operators from around the world. Important decision have also been made following in-depth socio-economic studies as well as issues relating to health and environment worldwide, with the primary aim of protecting about 1,700 participating companies, 43% of which from abroad (data from the 2019 edition), which traditionally choose this event as a showcase for their products and services. Rescheduling the event in 2022, identified by many analysts as the year of global economic recovery, will in fact allow exhibiting companies to invest their economic resources at a more opportune time, thus maximizing business opportunities, which has always been one of the cornerstones of the Bologna event. As a result of this shift, Autopromotec will continue to be held in even years. "The Covid-19 pandemic continues to claim victims and causes high levels of infection resulting in severe limitations to international travelling - points out Renzo Servadei, CEO of Autopromotec. Adequate preparation by all the players in the supply chain is essential to create a high-profile event, but uncertainty about future health measures makes it difficult for exhibitors and visitors, both national and international, to plan well in advance". "So far, the expressions of interest from exhibiting companies are in line with those of previous editions, continues Servadei. In an effort to lead the sector towards the 2022 event, Autopromotec is working on a digital project, which, starting in May 2021 will support companies keeping them in touch with the global market, in view of a complete restart of activities".

"The decision to reschedule the “great” Autopromotec trade fair to 2022, Aica being the co-owner of the event, comes from an in-depth discussion with all the stakeholders involved. The idea is to make the most of the time leading to 2022 and organize an event centred around "economic recovery and innovation". Currently we are all struggling with a very trying situation in terms of public health and economic recession. What we need is a far-sighted approach, starting from a careful assessment of risks and opportunities, and come up with solutions able to get the economy back on track and safeguard employment. In order to do this, both public and private investments are needed, while as far as our sector is concerned, companies need to invest in new technologies and digitization. International trade fairs are another key element for our sector. It is therefore crucial to create a real synergy between all exhibitions, and manage schedules and changes in a coordinated fashion, especially when, and this is precisely the case, unexpected events occur. Collaboration, engaging in open and frank discussions and overcoming pessimism is the only positive way to react to the crisis".
